Oddusuddan residents relocated

The SLA has brought 761 persons belonging to 216 families to Vavuniya from Oddusuddan, officials said today. About 40 persons are still remaining at Oddusuddan in the custody of the SLA, the sources added.

On Thursday night, the SLA had escorted three busloads of civilians from Oddusuddan to Vavuniya. 205 persons of 69 families were transported in the buses the officials added.

The SLA had also brought back the vehicles at Oddussudan, including tractors, motorcycles and bicycles, they said.

Meanwhile sources said that 18 youths out of the 47 arrested at Oddusuddan soon after it was captured by the SLA had been released.

Arrangements have been made by local authorities to transport 11 displaced students from Oddussuddan to the GCE O/L examination center from the Goodshed Road Transit Camp, sources added.
